How to manage template versions
Rezgo offers a powerful version control system for templates. This means that you can save different versions (called “snapshots”) of your template and switch between them, or try out new changes and roll them back.
To save a new version of your template, click Save Snapshot (A). You should do this every time you make major changes. Give the snapshot a name to help you remember which version is which.
Once you have more than one snapshot, you can click View Snapshots (B) to compare or switch between them.
You can preview your snapshots, copy their contents, compare two snapshots, restore a snapshot, or delete a snapshot. To get started, click the action button next to the snapshot.
Preview a snapshot
To preview a snapshot, click View Snapshot. This will bring up a preview of your template in a new tab.
Copy snapshot content
Click Copy Contents to copy your snapshot’s contents to your system’s clipboard. This will let you paste it into the template editor or another program.
Compare snapshot changes
1. If you’d like to know exactly what’s different between two snapshots, click Compare Changes.
2. Select the version you want to compare with from the current version in the editor or any saved snapshot (A).
3. Click Compare Changes (B).
This highlights changed lines and shows you what’s been changed in them. For example, in the screencap above, you can see that in Snapshot 2, Line 175 was changed, removing the phrase “Even More” from the page title.
Change to a previous snapshot
To use one of your older snapshots, click Restore Snapshot.
This will replace the version of the template that’s currently in the editor. If you had a new version you were working on in the editor, it will be saved in the snapshot list under Autosaves.
To publish the restored snapshot, remember to click Publish This Version.
Delete a snapshot
To delete a snapshot permanently, click Delete Snapshot.
Please note: Deleted snapshots can’t be restored.
Click OK to confirm.
