Rezgo Enhanced Ecommerce Complete Tracking Setup
In this article, you will learn how to set up enhanced ecommerce event tracking for GA4, Google Ads, and Meta using Rezgo GTM recipe.
If you don’t want to use all three of those tracking sources, return to the original guide, (linked above) to set up individual tracking types.
Prerequisites
Before importing the recipe, ensure you have the following ready:
- Google Tag Manager is installed on your website (parent frame), and you have publish rights (more info).
- GA4 is installed on your website, preferably via Google Tag Manager (more info).
- Your GA4 Measurement ID (more info).
- Active Google Ads Account: You must have your Conversion ID and Conversion Labels ready (more info).
- Your Meta pixel ID (more info).
If you don’t have an active GA4 account, see Google’s guide to setting up analytics for a website and/or app .
If you don’t have a Google Ads account, see Google’s guide to creating a Google Ads account.
Importing the complete GTM recipe
To simplify your setup, we provide a pre-configured GTM container file that contains everything you need.
- Download the Rezgo Complete Tracking Recipe here: Complete Setup.json
- In GTM, navigate to Admin > Import Container.
- Choose the downloaded file and select your existing workspace.
- Important: Choose Merge as the import option and select Rename conflicting tags to ensure you don’t overwrite your existing setup.
- Click Confirm.
Configuration steps
GA4 Tag
After importing, you only need to perform one manual step:
- In GTM, open the GA4 Event – Rezgo Ecommerce (All Events) tag.
- In the Configuration Tag measurement id field, enter your measurement id.
- Click Save.
Google Ads Tags
- If you haven’t yet, set up conversion actions in Google Ads for Add to cart, Begin checkout, and Purchase, then get conversion labels.
- Navigate to tags, open [Rezgo] GAds – Purchase, and add its conversion label. Repeat for the other conversion actions.
Meta/Facebook Tags
- Navigate to variables, open [Rezgo] Meta – pixel id, and add your pixel id.
Review and publish
Before publishing, check for existing tracking that may clash.
The complete setup sends events to GA4, Google Ads, and Meta at the same time. Any tracking you already have for any of these will double up once the recipe is live, so check all three before you publish.
- GA4: look for other GA4 event tags, or GA4 ecommerce from a plugin, that already send purchase or ecommerce events, and switch off the duplicates. Keep your single GA4 configuration tag.
- Google Ads: review your conversion actions in Google Ads and your Google Ads tags in Google Tag Manager. Keep one conversion linker and one tag per conversion action, and remove any older duplicates.
- Meta: look for another pixel, or pixel events from a plugin or hardcoded, that already fire Purchase or other standard events, and turn that part off. A single base pixel is fine.
- Confirm all three at once: run a test booking on your booking website with Google Tag Assistant and the Meta Pixel Helper open, plus GA4 DebugView. Anything that appears twice is a duplicate to remove before you publish.
Once verified, hit publish in GTM.
